Enter the VIN of a Adly scooter to read what the number says.
The Adly VIN decoder reads the 17 characters of a VIN and tells you the manufacturer, the model year and the country of manufacture. Our data covers 28 Adly models from 2003 to 2019, from the GTA 125 and Road Tracer 50 to the Silver Fox 100, Thunder 150 and Fun Cruiser, with engines between 49 and 150 cc. The decoder is free and needs no registration.
The VIN itself holds no accident record, mileage, theft entry or owner list. That information comes from a vehicle history report, and it is worth looking at before you commit to a used scooter.

A VIN has 17 characters, and the letters I, O and Q are never used. The first three identify the manufacturer and the country where it was built. Characters 4 to 8 describe the machine, but every maker codes them in its own way, so they say little without the maker's own tables. Character 9 is a check digit, required in North America. Character 10 is the model year, character 11 the assembly plant, and 12 to 17 the serial number.
The model year character is the one most buyers want. On VINs that follow the usual scheme, a 2003 scooter shows a 3 in position 10 and a 2009 shows a 9. From 2010 letters take over, so 2010 is A and 2019 is K. That is how a decoder places an Adly from our 2003 to 2019 range, whether it is a Cat 50, a Jet 100 or a GTA 150. On a scooter the VIN is usually stamped into the frame, often near the steering head, and repeated on a plate or sticker. It is also printed in the registration papers. Very old machines can carry a shorter frame number, which a VIN decoder cannot read.
The decoder reads the number. A history report looks for the records tied to it.
Adly history reportLook at the frame first, often near the steering head, where the VIN is usually stamped into the metal. It may also be on a plate or sticker, and it is written in the registration papers.
Characters 1 to 3 identify the manufacturer and the country of manufacture. The decoder uses them to show who built the scooter and where.
Check character 10 of the VIN. A digit such as 3 or 9 points to a year from 2003 to 2009, and a letter such as A or K points to 2010 or 2019. Our Adly data runs from 2003 to 2019, so a VIN in that span will normally decode to a year.
It reads only the VIN, so it cannot tell you about accidents, mileage, theft entries or previous owners. Those details are not stored in the VIN itself.
Compare the VIN on the frame with the one in the papers and on any plate or sticker, and make sure they match and look untouched. Then check that the engine size and model fit the description, since Adly models in our data range from 49 to 150 cc.
