Enter the 17-character VIN of a Znen scooter and the decoder reads three things from it: the manufacturer, the model year and the country of manufacture. It is free and needs no registration. Our Znen data covers 38 models from 2010 to 2024, with engines from 50 to 244 cc, so a result can be checked against machines like the A9, F9, Sun, Cruise or Bomb.

The decoder reads only the VIN, so it shows nothing about accidents, mileage, theft entries or previous owners. That information comes from a vehicle history report.

What the decoder shows for a Znen

  • The manufacturer and the country of manufacture, from the first three characters
  • The model year, from the 10th character
  • The assembly plant code and the serial number
  • Whether the check digit fits (a clear sign of a mistyped or altered number in North America)

How to read the VIN of a Znen scooter

A VIN has 17 characters, and the letters I, O and Q are not used. The first three identify the manufacturer and the country. Characters 4 to 8 describe the machine, and each maker codes them in its own way, so they do not simply spell out a model name such as Pathfinder, Zenking or Sabertooth Tiger. Character 9 is a check digit, required in North America. Character 10 gives the model year, which is what separates a 2010 Znen from a 2024 one. Character 11 marks the assembly plant, and characters 12 to 17 are the serial number.

On a scooter the VIN is usually stamped into the frame, often near the steering head, and repeated on a plate or sticker. Check the registration papers too, and see that all three match. Znen models in our data run from 2010 to 2024, so a 17-character VIN is what to expect. Machines built before 1981 can carry shorter frame numbers, and a VIN decoder cannot read those.

Questions and answers

Where do I find the VIN on a Znen scooter?

Look at the frame first, often near the steering head, where the VIN is usually stamped into the metal. It is also printed on a plate or sticker and listed in the registration papers.

What do the first characters of a Znen VIN mean?

The first three characters identify the manufacturer and the country where it was built. The decoder uses them to name the maker and the country of manufacture.

How do I find the model year of a Znen scooter?

The model year is coded in the 10th character of the VIN, and the decoder translates it for you. Our Znen data covers model years 2010 to 2024, whether the scooter is a 50 cc or a 244 cc.

What can the Znen VIN decoder not show?

It reads only the VIN, so it cannot show accidents, mileage, theft entries or owners. None of that is stored in the VIN itself.

What should I check before buying a used Znen scooter?

Compare the VIN on the frame with the one on the plate and in the registration papers, and look for signs of tampering. Then check that the model and engine size in the papers match the scooter in front of you, and ask to see service records.
