Enter the VIN of a PGO scooter to read what the number says.
Enter the 17-character VIN of a PGO scooter and the decoder reads the manufacturer, the model year and the country of manufacture. It is free and needs no registration. Our PGO data covers 28 models, from GTA 50 and GTC 50 back to older names like Tricycle, Hot and Charge, with model years from 2004 to 2024.
The VIN does not record accidents, mileage, theft entries or previous owners, so the decoder cannot show them. That information comes from a vehicle history report.
A VIN has 17 characters, and the letters I, O and Q are never used, so they cannot be mistaken for 1 and 0. The first three characters identify the manufacturer and the country. Characters 4 to 8 describe the machine, but each maker codes them in its own way, which is why the free decoder does not turn them into a model name or engine size. Character 9 is a check digit, required in North America. Character 10 is the model year, character 11 the assembly plant, and characters 12 to 17 are the serial number.
On a scooter the VIN is usually stamped into the frame, often near the steering head, and repeated on a plate or sticker. You will also find it in the registration papers. Our PGO data runs from 2004 to 2024, so a PGO scooter in that range, whether a small 49 cc model or a 150 cc one like the B1-150, should carry a full 17-character VIN. Machines built before 1981 can have shorter frame numbers, and a VIN decoder cannot read those.
The decoder reads the number. A history report looks for the records tied to it.
PGO history reportLook at the frame first, often near the steering head, and for a plate or sticker with the number printed on it. The same VIN is written in the registration papers, so you can compare the two.
The first three characters identify the manufacturer and the country where the scooter was made. The decoder reads them for you and shows the result.
The 10th character stands for the model year. For the PGO scooters in our data, the decoder reports a year between 2004 and 2024.
It reads only the VIN, so it gives the manufacturer, model year and country of manufacture. Accidents, mileage, theft entries and owners are not stored in a VIN, and it will not tell you the exact model, such as Tigra or Ligero, either.
Compare the VIN on the frame with the one in the registration papers and make sure the characters match exactly. Then check that the model year from the decoder fits the seller's description, and look at the scooter itself, including the engine size you were promised, anywhere from 49 to 150 cc in our data.
