Enter the 17-character VIN of a Giantco scooter and the decoder returns the manufacturer, the model year and the country of manufacture. It is free and needs no registration. Our catalogue holds 43 Giantco models from 2008 to 2013, from Archer, Bella and Knight to Cyrus 125 and Cyrus 50, with engines between 49 and 193 cc.
The decoder reads only the VIN, so it cannot tell you about accidents, mileage, theft entries or previous owners. That information comes from a vehicle history report.
43 models in our data, newest first.
A VIN has 17 characters, and the letters I, O and Q are not used. The first three identify the manufacturer and the country, which is how the decoder names the maker and the place of production. Characters 4 to 8 describe the machine itself, such as the model and engine, but each maker codes them in its own way, so they cannot be read the same way on every brand. Character 9 is a check digit, required in North America. Character 10 is the model year, character 11 the assembly plant, and characters 12 to 17 the serial number. For a Giantco from our data, the tenth character should point to a year between 2008 and 2013.
On a scooter the VIN is usually stamped into the frame, often near the steering head, and repeated on a plate or sticker. You will also find it in the registration papers, so you can compare the three. Our data covers very different machines under the Giantco name: 30 are listed as scooter, 10 as allround, 2 as sport and 1 as custom / cruiser. Engine sizes run from 49 to 193 cc, with a highest power of 15 hp. Models such as Tornado, Venus, HY125 or e-Buddy all follow the same 17-character layout, and the decoder reads it the same way. Machines built before 1981 can carry shorter frame numbers that a VIN decoder cannot read.
The decoder reads the number. A history report looks for the records tied to it.
Giantco history reportLook at the frame first, often near the steering head, where the VIN is usually stamped. It is also printed on a plate or sticker and written in the registration papers.
Characters 1 to 3 identify the manufacturer and the country where the scooter was made. The decoder uses them to show the maker and the country of manufacture.
The model year is coded in the tenth character of the VIN, and the decoder translates it for you. Our Giantco data covers the years 2008 to 2013.
It cannot show accidents, mileage, theft entries or owners, because none of these are stored in the VIN. It also does not list the exact model or equipment of your scooter.
Make sure the VIN on the frame, the plate and the registration papers match, and that the stamping looks untouched. Ask the seller for service records, and have the engine, brakes and frame looked at before you pay.
