Enter the VIN of a Victory motorcycle to read what the number says.
This free decoder reads the 17-character VIN of a Victory motorcycle and tells you the manufacturer, the model year and the country of manufacture. Our Victory data covers 55 models from 2000 to 2018, from the Cross Country, Gunner, Hammer and High Ball to the Vision, Octane and Empulse. It includes touring and custom / cruiser machines as well as a naked bike, with engine sizes from 179 to 1731 cc and up to 104 hp.
The decoder reads only the VIN itself, so it cannot tell you about accidents, mileage, theft entries or previous owners. That information comes from a vehicle history report.

A VIN has 17 characters, and the letters I, O and Q are never used. The first three identify the manufacturer and the country, characters 4 to 8 describe the machine in a code each maker sets for itself, and character 9 is a check digit. The 10th character gives the model year, which for a Victory means somewhere between 2000 and 2018. Character 11 points to the assembly plant, and characters 12 to 17 are the serial number. This is why a Cross Country, a Gunner and a Vision from different years each carry their own unique number, even when the model name is the same.
On a motorcycle the VIN is usually stamped into the frame, often near the steering head, and repeated on a plate or sticker. You will also find it in the registration papers. Since 17-character VINs apply to vehicles built since 1981, a Victory from the 2000 to 2018 range should have one. If you are checking a Hammer 8-Ball or a Cross Roads Classic, compare the number on the frame with the number on the papers, character by character, before you type it into the decoder.
The decoder reads the number. A history report looks for the records tied to it.
Victory history reportLook at the frame first, often near the steering head, where the number is usually stamped into the metal. It may also be on a plate or sticker, and it is printed in the registration papers.
The first three characters identify the manufacturer and the country where the machine was built. Characters 4 to 8 then describe the motorcycle itself, and each maker codes this part in its own way.
The 10th character of the VIN is the model year code. The decoder translates it for you, and for the Victory models in our data the result falls between 2000 and 2018.
It does not show accidents, mileage, theft entries or the number of owners, because none of that is stored in the VIN. It also cannot read older or shorter frame numbers that are not in the 17-character format.
Make sure the VIN on the frame, the plate and the registration papers all match, and that the frame number looks untouched. Then decode it to confirm that the manufacturer and model year agree with what the seller says, for example for a Judge, a Magnum or a Vision Tour.
