Enter the VIN of the Italjet scooter you are thinking of buying and check what its records say.
The Italjet models in our data run from 1997 to 2024, with engine sizes from 47 to 450 cc and up to 43 hp. That is a wide spread of ages, prices and uses, so two used scooters with the same badge can have very different pasts. A history check lets you see what the records say before you hand over money.
A VIN identifies the machine, but it does not contain accidents, mileage readings, theft entries or owners. The Italjet VIN decoder shows what is encoded in the number itself, such as the model year and the details the maker coded into it. A vehicle history report adds the records linked to that number, where they are available.
Records are shown where available. Coverage may vary by country and vehicle.
Start with the range. Our data lists 10 models, from Dragster 125, Dragster 200 and Dragster 50 to Velocifero 50, Fast Boy, Formula 125, Formula 50, Pit Jet and Jack. Together they cover model years 1997 to 2024 and engines from 47 to 450 cc. A scooter from the early part of that span and one from the recent end are different purchases, with different prices, different wear and different paperwork. Do not judge one by the standards of the other.
Then look at what you cannot see on a test ride. Mileage is hard to judge from a short ride and a few photos, and clean bodywork can hide a repaired crash. The seller may be honest and still be passing on an account that differs from the records, or the papers may not match what the machine has been through. The types in our data are mostly scooters, plus one prototype or concept model, one minibike or cross model and one enduro or offroad model. If the one you are looking at is not an ordinary road scooter, ask how it was used and how it was registered.
A history check settles the record side of these questions: reported damage, mileage readings, theft entries, ownership changes and technical data, where available. It does not tell you the current condition of the brakes, engine or frame, so it does not replace an inspection by a mechanic. Used together, the report tells you what has been recorded and the mechanic tells you what the machine is like today. The check costs little next to a wrong purchase, and it is worth doing before a visit or a deposit.
Copy it from the advert, the papers or the frame itself.
You continue on the report page and choose how to pay.
Compare them with the seller's account and decide with the facts in front of you.
The VIN decoder reads the manufacturer code, model year and country of manufacture of a Italjet. It does not show the history of the bike.

Depending on the records available, it can show damage entries, mileage readings, theft entries, ownership changes and technical data. Coverage may vary by country and by vehicle, so some reports will contain more than others.
No. The 17 characters tell you who made it, describe the machine in the maker's own coding and give the model year and a serial number. They do not contain accidents, mileage, theft entries or owners, which come from records.
It is a sensible order. You can compare the report with what the seller says and with the papers, and decide whether the trip or a deposit is worth it. Make sure the VIN you check matches the one stamped on the frame and printed in the registration papers.
Missing records do not prove a problem, and they do not prove a clean history either. They may simply mean nothing was recorded or that coverage is thin for that country or vehicle. In that case, ask the seller for service and ownership documents and have a mechanic inspect the scooter.
Scooters of one brand are often built and sold in several countries, so the history can cross borders and records may be spread out or incomplete. Check that the frame number matches the import and registration papers, and ask where the scooter was first sold and registered.
