A used Hyosung can be almost anything from a small scooter like the Rally 50 or Sense to a GT 650 or GV 700, and the model years in our data run from 1998 to 2025. With 64 models and engine sizes from 49 to 680 cc, two bikes at the same asking price can have very different pasts. A history report is a way to check that past before you commit.

A VIN holds a limited amount of information: the manufacturer, a coded description of the machine, the model year and a serial number. the Hyosung VIN decoder shows what is encoded in the number itself. Damage, mileage readings, theft entries and ownership changes are not in the number, they come from a vehicle history report, and only where records exist. A report also says nothing about how the bike runs today.

What a report can show about a used Hyosung

  • Damage and accident records tied to the VIN of the Hyosung
  • Mileage readings recorded over the years
  • Theft and search entries, where such data exists
  • Changes of owner and registration history
  • Technical data of the vehicle
  • Archive photos, where available

Records are shown where available. Coverage may vary by country and vehicle.

What to check before buying a used Hyosung motorcycle

Start with the question of which bike you are actually looking at. The range includes scooters (14 models in our data), custom and cruiser bikes (10), naked bikes (4) and allround models (2), and the names are close to each other. A GT 250, a GT 250 FI and a GT 250R are not the same machine, and the same goes for the GV 650, GV 650 Aquila Pro and GV 650 Aquila Classic. Compare the VIN on the frame with the number in the registration papers and with the advert. If they do not match, or the model name in the advert differs from the papers, ask why before going further.

Then think about what a test ride cannot tell you. Mileage on a worn-looking GT 650 or an older ST7 is hard to judge from the dash alone, and a bike that has been dropped or crashed can be repaired so that it looks fine in a few photos. The seller's story and the paperwork can also differ from the records. A history report puts recorded damage, mileage readings, theft entries and owner changes next to what you have been told, so you can see where the accounts agree and where they do not.

Age and origin matter too. A Hyosung from 1998 and one from 2025 sit in very different places on the used market, and a long model range makes prices hard to compare. Bikes of one brand are often built and sold in several countries, so the history of an imported machine can span borders, and coverage may vary by country and vehicle. A report covers records, not the current technical condition. If the history looks clean, the bike should still be looked over by a mechanic before you pay.

How it works

1

Enter the VIN

Copy it from the advert, the papers or the frame itself.

2

Order the report

You continue on the report page and choose how to pay.

3

Read what the records say

Compare them with the seller's account and decide with the facts in front of you.

The VIN of a Hyosung on its own

The VIN decoder reads the manufacturer code, model year and country of manufacture of a Hyosung. It does not show the history of the bike.

Questions and answers

What can a history report for a Hyosung show?

Where records are available, it can show damage entries, mileage readings, theft entries, ownership changes and technical data for the VIN you enter. Which of these appear depends on the country and on the individual vehicle.

Is the VIN alone enough to know the vehicle?

No. The VIN tells you the manufacturer, the model year and how the machine is described, but not whether it has been crashed, how far it has run or who owned it. For that you need a history report, and even then only what has been recorded.

Should I check the history before visiting the seller?

It makes sense to, because you can ask the seller about anything odd before you travel or leave a deposit. Ask for the VIN first and compare it with the frame and the registration papers when you see the bike.

What does it mean if records are missing?

It means nothing was found for that VIN in the available sources, not that the bike has a clean past. Coverage varies by country and vehicle, so treat gaps as a reason to ask more questions and to have the bike inspected.

How should I treat a Hyosung that was imported or built abroad?

Expect that its history may sit in more than one country, and that some records may be missing. Check that the VIN on the frame matches the import and registration papers, and that the model name matches the exact variant you think you are buying.
