Our data for Picasso is small: one model, the 660 LMS, with model year 2023. A VIN holds no accident records, mileage, theft status or owner details. That information comes from a paid vehicle history report.

We do not yet have any WMI codes mapped to Picasso, so there is no list of first-three-character codes to show here. The WMI is what tells the decoder who built the vehicle and in which country. Without a code on our list, we cannot promise a match for this brand, and that says nothing about whether your VIN is valid.
The model year is easier to pin down. In our version data for the 660 LMS it is 2023, and position 10 of a VIN carries that year as the letter P. Positions 4 to 8 describe the vehicle, position 9 is a check digit (required in North America, filled in differently on many European VINs), position 11 is the plant, and positions 12 to 17 are the serial number. The letters I, O and Q are never used.
Every VIN has six parts. This is what each of them means.
| Part | Characters | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| WMI | 1 to 3 | World manufacturer identifier: who built the vehicle and where |
| VDS | 4 to 8 | Vehicle descriptor: model, body type and engine, as set by the manufacturer |
| Check digit | 9 | Control value that helps confirm the VIN is valid |
| Model year | 10 | Code for the model year |
| Plant | 11 | Code for the assembly plant |
| Serial | 12 to 17 | Production sequence number of this vehicle |

A VIN is built from six parts, and each one says something about the vehicle. Our guides explain how to read it and what it can and cannot tell you.

Look at the vehicle documents first, then check the vehicle itself. VINs are commonly stamped or printed at the base of the windscreen or on a door pillar, though the exact place can vary.
The first three characters are the WMI, which identifies the manufacturer and region. We have no WMI codes mapped to Picasso yet, so a VIN starting with any characters can still be entered and read.
Check the 10th character of the VIN. The 2023 model year, the one in our data for the 660 LMS, appears as the letter P.
It cannot show accidents, mileage, theft or previous owners, because none of that is stored in the VIN. It reads only the characters of the number itself.
Make sure the VIN on the paperwork matches the one on the vehicle, and that it has 17 characters with no I, O or Q. Then inspect the vehicle in person and ask the seller for service records.
