What is a Noble VIN decoder?

Enter the 17-character VIN of a Noble and the decoder reads what is written in the number itself: the manufacturer code, the model year and the country of manufacture. Our data for the brand covers two models, the M12 GTO and the M600, with version data for model years 2003 to 2016. The decoder is free and needs no registration.

A VIN does not record accidents, mileage, theft or previous owners, so the decoder cannot show them. That information comes from a paid vehicle history report.

What the Noble decoder shows

  • The manufacturer and brand (Noble)
  • The model year
  • The country of manufacture
  • The assembly plant, when it is coded
  • The vehicle type and body style, where the manufacturer encodes it
  • Engine and model details, where available
  • Whether the VIN structure and check digit are valid

How the VIN of a Noble is read

Every VIN has 17 characters, and the letters I, O and Q are never used. The first three characters are the WMI, which identifies the manufacturer and the country of manufacture. At the moment we have no WMI codes mapped to Noble, so we cannot list any here. Our list is not complete, and that says nothing about any particular VIN.

Characters 4 to 8 describe the vehicle, and character 9 is a check digit. North America requires the check digit, while many European VINs fill that position differently. Character 10 gives the model year, character 11 the plant, and characters 12 to 17 are the serial number.

The model year character is the easiest part to check. Our version data for Noble runs from 2003 to 2016. A 3 in position 10 stands for 2003, and a G stands for 2016. Between those two, 2004 to 2009 use the digits 4 to 9, and 2010 to 2015 use the letters A to F.

How a VIN is built

Every VIN has six parts. This is what each of them means.

Check digit9Control value that helps confirm the VIN is valid

Learn more about VINs

A VIN is built from six parts, and each one says something about the vehicle. Our guides explain how to read it and what it can and cannot tell you.

Before you buy a used Noble

  • Compare the VIN on the dashboard, the door frame and the documents. All three should match.
  • Look for signs of tampering around the VIN plate and the door frame sticker.
  • Ask for the service history and check it against the car.
  • Run a full history report to see recorded damage, mileage and theft records.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I find the VIN of a Noble?

It is normally printed on the vehicle registration document and is also fixed to the car itself. The exact position differs from car to car, so the owner's handbook or the seller can point you to it. Copy all 17 characters exactly.

What do the first characters of a Noble VIN mean?

The first three characters are the WMI, which identifies the manufacturer and the country of manufacture. We have no WMI codes mapped to Noble yet, so we cannot name any. A VIN that starts with other characters is not wrong because of that.

How do I find the model year of my Noble?

Look at the 10th character. Our version data for the brand covers 2003 to 2016, where 3 means 2003 and G means 2016. The decoder reads this character for you.

What can the decoder not tell me about a Noble?

It does not show accidents, mileage, theft records or the number of owners, because none of that is stored in the VIN. We also have no body style or power figures for the brand in our data.

What should I check before buying a used Noble?

Compare the VIN on the documents with the VIN on the car, and make sure all 17 characters match. Check that the model year character fits the car you are being offered. Then ask the seller for service records and look at the car in person.
