This page decodes VINs for MW Motors. Enter the 17 characters and the decoder reads the manufacturer, the model year and the country of manufacture from the number itself. Our data for the brand is small: one model, the Luka EV, and version data for the 2015 model year only.
A VIN does not hold accidents, mileage, theft records or previous owners. That information comes from a paid vehicle history report. The decoder itself is free and needs no registration.

Every VIN built since 1981 has 17 characters, and the letters I, O and Q are never used. The first three characters are the WMI, which identifies the manufacturer and the country of manufacture. At the moment we have no WMI codes mapped to MW Motors, so we cannot list any prefixes or countries for the brand here. Our list is not complete, and a VIN that starts with other characters is not a reason for concern.
Characters 4 to 8 describe the vehicle, and character 9 is a check digit. It is required in North America, while many European VINs fill that position differently. The tenth character gives the model year. Our version data for MW Motors covers 2015, and the letter for 2015 is F. Position 11 shows the plant, and positions 12 to 17 are the serial number.
Every VIN has six parts. This is what each of them means.
| Part | Characters | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| WMI | 1 to 3 | World manufacturer identifier: who built the vehicle and where |
| VDS | 4 to 8 | Vehicle descriptor: model, body type and engine, as set by the manufacturer |
| Check digit | 9 | Control value that helps confirm the VIN is valid |
| Model year | 10 | Code for the model year |
| Plant | 11 | Code for the assembly plant |
| Serial | 12 to 17 | Production sequence number of this vehicle |
On the driver's side, visible through the windshield.
On a sticker on the door frame or the edge of the door.
Printed in the vehicle registration or title.
Stamped on the firewall or the frame on many models.
A VIN is built from six parts, and each one says something about the vehicle. Our guides explain how to read it and what it can and cannot tell you.

The 17 characters are commonly printed on the registration document and on a plate or stamping on the vehicle, often at the base of the windscreen or on a door frame. Compare more than one location, and copy the number exactly as written.
The first three characters are the WMI, which identifies the manufacturer and country. We have no WMI codes mapped to MW Motors yet, so the decoder cannot match a prefix to the brand from our list. That says nothing about whether your VIN is correct.
Look at the tenth character. Our version data for the brand covers 2015, which is shown by the letter F in that position. Letters and digits repeat in a 30-year cycle, so the model year is best read together with the other details of the car.
It reads only the VIN, so it gives the manufacturer, model year and country of manufacture. Accidents, mileage, theft and owners are not stored in the VIN. Our data also has no body style or power figures for this brand.
Make sure the VIN on the car matches the one in the registration papers, and that the model year decoded from the tenth character fits the car and the seller's description. Ask for service records and have the car inspected before you pay.
