Enter the 17-character VIN of an M-Hero and the decoder reads what is written into the number itself: the manufacturer, the model year and the country of manufacture. Our data for the brand covers two models, 1 and 917, with the body style listed as SUV and model years from 2023 to the present, since some of them are still being built.
The VIN does not record accidents, mileage, theft or previous owners. That information comes from a paid vehicle history report, while the decoder on this page stays free and needs no registration.
Every VIN has 17 characters, and the letters I, O and Q are never used, so they cannot be mistaken for 1 and 0. The first three characters are the WMI, the world manufacturer identifier. At the moment we have no WMI code mapped to M-Hero, so there is no list of codes or countries to show here. The codes we recognise for a brand are the only ones we can name, and our list is not complete.
Characters 4 to 8 describe the vehicle, and character 9 is the check digit. North America requires it, while many European VINs fill that position differently. Character 10 gives the model year, and for M-Hero's range that means P for 2023, R for 2024, S for 2025 and T for 2026. Character 11 marks the plant, and characters 12 to 17 are the serial number of the individual vehicle.
Every VIN has six parts. This is what each of them means.
| Part | Characters | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| WMI | 1 to 3 | World manufacturer identifier: who built the vehicle and where |
| VDS | 4 to 8 | Vehicle descriptor: model, body type and engine, as set by the manufacturer |
| Check digit | 9 | Control value that helps confirm the VIN is valid |
| Model year | 10 | Code for the model year |
| Plant | 11 | Code for the assembly plant |
| Serial | 12 to 17 | Production sequence number of this vehicle |
On the driver's side, visible through the windshield.
On a sticker on the door frame or the edge of the door.
Printed in the vehicle registration or title.
Stamped on the firewall or the frame on many models.
A VIN is built from six parts, and each one says something about the vehicle. Our guides explain how to read it and what it can and cannot tell you.

The VIN is usually visible at the base of the windscreen on the driver's side, on a sticker in the door frame, and in the registration papers. Compare the number on the car with the one in the documents.
The first three characters are the WMI, which identifies the manufacturer and the country of manufacture. We do not have a WMI code on record for M-Hero yet, so the decoder cannot name one here.
Look at the 10th character. For the years in our data, P stands for 2023, R for 2024, S for 2025 and T for 2026.
It cannot show accidents, mileage, theft records or the number of previous owners, because none of that is stored in the VIN. It also does not give power figures for the 1 or the 917, as we have no such data.
Make sure the VIN on the car matches the registration documents and that the model year character fits the age the seller states. Then look into the car's past, since the VIN alone says nothing about how it was used or what happened to it.
