Enter a 17-character VIN and the Lvchi decoder reads the manufacturer, the model year and the country of manufacture straight from the code. Our data for the brand is small: one model, Venere, with the body style recorded as Sedan and version data for model year 2019 only. Power figures are not available for Lvchi in our data, so the decoder does not show them.
A VIN holds no accident records, mileage, theft status or ownership details. That information comes from a paid vehicle history report, while the decoder here stays free and needs no registration.
Pick a Lvchi model to see how its VIN works.
Every VIN built since 1981 has 17 characters, and the letters I, O and Q are never used. The first three characters are the WMI, which identifies the manufacturer and the country. At the moment our list holds no WMI codes for Lvchi, so we cannot name a prefix or a country of manufacture for the brand. The decoder works from the codes it recognises, and that list is not complete.
Characters 4 to 8 describe the vehicle, and position 9 is a check digit. North American VINs require it, while many European VINs fill it in differently. Position 10 gives the model year. For the 2019 model year covered by our Lvchi data, that character is K. Position 11 marks the plant, and positions 12 to 17 are the serial number.
Every VIN has six parts. This is what each of them means.
| Part | Characters | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| WMI | 1 to 3 | World manufacturer identifier: who built the vehicle and where |
| VDS | 4 to 8 | Vehicle descriptor: model, body type and engine, as set by the manufacturer |
| Check digit | 9 | Control value that helps confirm the VIN is valid |
| Model year | 10 | Code for the model year |
| Plant | 11 | Code for the assembly plant |
| Serial | 12 to 17 | Production sequence number of this vehicle |
On the driver's side, visible through the windshield.
On a sticker on the door frame or the edge of the door.
Printed in the vehicle registration or title.
Stamped on the firewall or the frame on many models.
A VIN is built from six parts, and each one says something about the vehicle. Our guides explain how to read it and what it can and cannot tell you.

It is usually on a plate at the base of the windscreen on the driver's side, on a sticker in a door frame, and in the registration papers. Compare the number on the car with the one in the documents, character by character.
The first three characters are the WMI, which points to the manufacturer and country. Our list has no WMI codes mapped to Lvchi yet, so the decoder cannot match a prefix to the brand from that list.
Look at the 10th character. Our Lvchi version data covers model year 2019 only, and the letter for 2019 is K. Other letters stand for other years, for example L for 2020 and J for 2018.
It reads only the VIN itself, so it cannot show accidents, mileage, theft or previous owners. It also gives no power figure for this brand, because we have none in our data.
Make sure the VIN on the car matches the registration papers and that the plate and stickers look untouched. Ask for service records, inspect the car in person, and have a mechanic look it over if you can.
