This page decodes the VIN of an Invicta. Enter the 17 characters and the decoder reads the manufacturer, the model year and the country of manufacture from them. In our data the brand has one model, the S1, with version data for model years 2004 to 2012.
A VIN does not contain accident damage, mileage, theft records or previous owners. That information comes from a paid vehicle history report, which is a separate product from this free decoder.
Pick a Invicta model to see how its VIN works.
The first three characters of a VIN are the World Manufacturer Identifier, or WMI. We do not have any WMI codes mapped to Invicta at the moment, so there is no list of codes to show here. The decoder still reads the rest of the VIN, but we cannot name a country of manufacture for this brand from our own data.
Characters 4 to 8 describe the vehicle, and character 9 is the check digit. North American VINs must use it as a check digit, while many European VINs fill that position differently, so a check digit that does not calculate is not a problem in itself. Character 11 usually marks the plant, and characters 12 to 17 are the serial number.
The model year sits at position 10. For the years our Invicta data covers, a 4 stands for 2004, an 8 for 2008 and a C for 2012. The letters I, O and Q are never used in a VIN, which is why a 17-character code containing them has probably been mistyped.
Every VIN has six parts. This is what each of them means.
| Part | Characters | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| WMI | 1 to 3 | World manufacturer identifier: who built the vehicle and where |
| VDS | 4 to 8 | Vehicle descriptor: model, body type and engine, as set by the manufacturer |
| Check digit | 9 | Control value that helps confirm the VIN is valid |
| Model year | 10 | Code for the model year |
| Plant | 11 | Code for the assembly plant |
| Serial | 12 to 17 | Production sequence number of this vehicle |
On the driver's side, visible through the windshield.
On a sticker on the door frame or the edge of the door.
Printed in the vehicle registration or title.
Stamped on the firewall or the frame on many models.
A VIN is built from six parts, and each one says something about the vehicle. Our guides explain how to read it and what it can and cannot tell you.

Look for a 17-character code on a plate at the base of the windscreen or on the sticker at the door pillar. It is also usually printed in the registration papers. Compare these, as they should all show the same VIN.
The first three characters form the WMI, which identifies the manufacturer and the country of manufacture. We have no WMI codes mapped to Invicta yet. A VIN that starts with other characters is not wrong because of that, since our list is not complete.
Read character 10. In the 2004 to 2012 range covered by our data, 4 to 9 mean 2004 to 2009, A means 2010, B means 2011 and C means 2012.
It cannot show accidents, mileage, theft or owners, because none of that is stored in the VIN. Our data also has no body style or power figures for this brand.
Make sure the VIN on the car matches the one in the documents and is easy to read. Ask the seller for service records and proof of mileage, and look at the car in person before paying anything.
