This page decodes the VIN of a HuangHai. Enter the 17 characters and the decoder reads the manufacturer, the model year and the country of manufacture from them. Our data for the brand covers two models, Antelope and Landscape, with model years 2006 to 2007 and the Wagon body style.
A VIN holds no record of accidents, mileage, theft or previous owners. That information comes from a paid vehicle history report, while the decoder here stays free and needs no registration.
Every VIN has 17 characters, and the letters I, O and Q are never used. The first three characters are the WMI, the code for the manufacturer. We do not yet have any WMI codes mapped to HuangHai, so we cannot name a prefix or a country of manufacture for the brand. Our list is not complete, and that is a gap in our data, not a statement about any particular VIN.
Characters 4 to 8 are the descriptor section, and character 9 is the check digit. North America requires the check digit, while many European VINs fill that position differently. Characters 12 to 17 are the serial number, and character 11 points to the plant.
The tenth character gives the model year. For the years in our HuangHai data, a 6 in that position means 2006 and a 7 means 2007. So a VIN with a 7 in tenth place would be read as a 2007 model year.
Every VIN has six parts. This is what each of them means.
| Part | Characters | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| WMI | 1 to 3 | World manufacturer identifier: who built the vehicle and where |
| VDS | 4 to 8 | Vehicle descriptor: model, body type and engine, as set by the manufacturer |
| Check digit | 9 | Control value that helps confirm the VIN is valid |
| Model year | 10 | Code for the model year |
| Plant | 11 | Code for the assembly plant |
| Serial | 12 to 17 | Production sequence number of this vehicle |
On the driver's side, visible through the windshield.
On a sticker on the door frame or the edge of the door.
Printed in the vehicle registration or title.
Stamped on the firewall or the frame on many models.
A VIN is built from six parts, and each one says something about the vehicle. Our guides explain how to read it and what it can and cannot tell you.

Look at the vehicle registration papers first, where the VIN is printed in full. On the car itself it is normally on a plate or stamped into the body. Copy all 17 characters exactly, since I, O and Q are never part of a VIN.
The first three characters are the WMI, which identifies the manufacturer. We have no WMI codes mapped to HuangHai at the moment, so the decoder may not link a VIN to the brand by its prefix. That reflects the limits of our list only.
Check the tenth character. A 6 stands for 2006 and a 7 for 2007, which are the model years in our HuangHai data. VINs apply to cars built since 1981, and the same letters and digits repeat in later cycles.
It reads only the VIN itself, so it gives the manufacturer, model year and country of manufacture. It cannot show accidents, mileage, theft records or the number of owners, because none of that is stored in the VIN.
Make sure the VIN on the car matches the one in the registration papers, character for character. Then check that the tenth character fits the model year the seller states. Ask for service records and have the car looked over in person, particularly a Wagon of this age.
