This free decoder reads the 17-character VIN of a Force Motors vehicle and shows the manufacturer, the model year and the country of manufacture. Our data for the brand covers one model, the Gurkha, with model years from 2017 to the present, since some models are still being built.
A VIN holds no accident records, mileage, theft status or owner history. That information comes from a paid vehicle history report. The decoder itself is free and needs no registration.

Every VIN has 17 characters, and the letters I, O and Q are never used, so they are not confused with 1 and 0. The first three characters are the World Manufacturer Identifier, or WMI. We do not yet know any WMI codes for Force Motors, so we cannot list codes or countries here. A VIN that starts with other characters is not a problem, because our list is simply incomplete.
Characters 4 to 8 describe the vehicle. Character 9 is a check digit, which is required in North America, while many European VINs fill that position in a different way. Character 10 is the model year, character 11 the assembly plant, and characters 12 to 17 the serial number.
For a Force Motors the tenth character is the quickest check. H means 2017, the first year in our data, J means 2018 and K means 2019. A later Gurkha could show a letter such as R for 2024 or S for 2025.
Every VIN has six parts. This is what each of them means.
| Part | Characters | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| WMI | 1 to 3 | World manufacturer identifier: who built the vehicle and where |
| VDS | 4 to 8 | Vehicle descriptor: model, body type and engine, as set by the manufacturer |
| Check digit | 9 | Control value that helps confirm the VIN is valid |
| Model year | 10 | Code for the model year |
| Plant | 11 | Code for the assembly plant |
| Serial | 12 to 17 | Production sequence number of this vehicle |
On the driver's side, visible through the windshield.
On a sticker on the door frame or the edge of the door.
Printed in the vehicle registration or title.
Stamped on the firewall or the frame on many models.
A VIN is built from six parts, and each one says something about the vehicle. Our guides explain how to read it and what it can and cannot tell you.
Enter the 17-character VIN and see the factory basics in seconds.
Look at the registration papers or insurance documents first, then compare the number with the one on the vehicle itself. The exact position on the vehicle can differ between models, so the owner's manual is the best guide for a Gurkha.
The first three characters are the WMI, which identifies the manufacturer and country. We have no WMI codes on file for Force Motors yet, so the decoder may not name the brand for every VIN. That says nothing about whether the VIN is genuine.
Check the tenth character of the VIN. H stands for 2017, J for 2018, K for 2019 and L for 2020, and the letters continue in the same order for later years. Our version data starts in 2017.
It cannot show accidents, mileage, theft or previous owners, because none of that is stored in the VIN. It also gives no body style or power figures for Force Motors, as we do not have them in our data.
Make sure the VIN on the vehicle matches the one in the documents, and that it has 17 characters without I, O or Q. Then compare the model year from the tenth character with the year the seller states.
