Our data for the brand is small: one model, the Missile, with version data from 2018 to the present. A VIN holds no accident history, mileage, theft record or owner details. That information comes from a paid vehicle history report.

Every VIN built since 1981 has 17 characters, and the letters I, O and Q are never used. The first three characters are the World Manufacturer Identifier, or WMI. It names the maker and the country of manufacture. We do not currently have any WMI codes mapped to Corbellati, so there is no list to show here. A VIN that starts with other characters is not a problem because of that. It only means we cannot link it to the brand yet.
Characters 4 to 8 describe the vehicle, and character 9 is the check digit. North American VINs require it, while many European VINs fill that position differently. Character 10 gives the model year. For a Corbellati from our 2018 to present range, J stands for 2018, K for 2019 and L for 2020. Character 11 marks the plant, and characters 12 to 17 are the serial number.
Every VIN has six parts. This is what each of them means.
| Part | Characters | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| WMI | 1 to 3 | World manufacturer identifier: who built the vehicle and where |
| VDS | 4 to 8 | Vehicle descriptor: model, body type and engine, as set by the manufacturer |
| Check digit | 9 | Control value that helps confirm the VIN is valid |
| Model year | 10 | Code for the model year |
| Plant | 11 | Code for the assembly plant |
| Serial | 12 to 17 | Production sequence number of this vehicle |
On the driver's side, visible through the windshield.
On a sticker on the door frame or the edge of the door.
Printed in the vehicle registration or title.
Stamped on the firewall or the frame on many models.
A VIN is built from six parts, and each one says something about the vehicle. Our guides explain how to read it and what it can and cannot tell you.

Look at the vehicle registration papers first, since the VIN is printed there. On the car itself it is usually visible at the base of the windshield or on a label at the door frame. Compare the number on the car with the one in the papers.
The first three characters are the WMI, which identifies the manufacturer and the country of manufacture. We have no WMI codes mapped to Corbellati at the moment, so the decoder may not link every VIN to the brand.
Check the 10th character. Our version data for the Missile starts at 2018, which is the letter J, and later years follow as K for 2019, L for 2020 and so on. The decoder reads this character for you.
It reads only the 17 characters, so it cannot show accidents, mileage, theft or previous owners. None of that is stored in the VIN itself.
Make sure the VIN on the car matches the registration documents and has exactly 17 characters without I, O or Q. Then ask the seller for service records and other paperwork, and have the car inspected in person.
