This page decodes the 17-character VIN of a Bufori for free, with no registration. It reads the manufacturer, the model year and the country of manufacture straight from the characters. Our data for the brand covers two models, Geneva and La Joya, with version data for model years 2004 to 2018, and the body style on record is Sedan.
A VIN does not contain accidents, mileage, theft records or previous owners. That information comes from a paid vehicle history report, which is a separate step from this decoder.
Every VIN for a car built since 1981 has 17 characters, and the letters I, O and Q are never used. The first three characters are the WMI, which identifies the manufacturer and the country of manufacture. At the moment we have no WMI codes on file for Bufori. Our list is not complete, so a Bufori VIN may not show a manufacturer or country here, and that says nothing about the car itself.
Characters 4 to 8 describe the vehicle, and character 9 is a check digit. North America requires the check digit, while many European VINs fill that position differently. Character 10 is the model year. For a Bufori from the years in our data, a 4 in that position means 2004, an A means 2010, an F means 2015 and a J means 2018. Character 11 marks the plant, and characters 12 to 17 are the serial number.
Every VIN has six parts. This is what each of them means.
| Part | Characters | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| WMI | 1 to 3 | World manufacturer identifier: who built the vehicle and where |
| VDS | 4 to 8 | Vehicle descriptor: model, body type and engine, as set by the manufacturer |
| Check digit | 9 | Control value that helps confirm the VIN is valid |
| Model year | 10 | Code for the model year |
| Plant | 11 | Code for the assembly plant |
| Serial | 12 to 17 | Production sequence number of this vehicle |
On the driver's side, visible through the windshield.
On a sticker on the door frame or the edge of the door.
Printed in the vehicle registration or title.
Stamped on the firewall or the frame on many models.
A VIN is built from six parts, and each one says something about the vehicle. Our guides explain how to read it and what it can and cannot tell you.

Check the registration document or title first, since the VIN is printed there. On the car itself it is usually on a plate or stamping, often visible at the base of the windscreen on the driver's side or on a door pillar. Make sure the number matches on every one of these places.
The first three characters are the WMI, which stands for the manufacturer and the country. We have no WMI codes recorded for Bufori yet, so the decoder may leave those fields empty. The remaining characters can still be read as the usual descriptor, model year and serial number.
Look at the 10th character. The Bufori model years in our data run from 2004 to 2018, which correspond to the characters 4 through to J. For example, 4 is 2004, E is 2014 and J is 2018.
It reads only the VIN, so it cannot tell you about accidents, mileage, theft or the number of owners. It also does not list the equipment or condition of one particular car. It gives you the manufacturer, model year and country where our data allows.
Compare the VIN on the car with the one in the papers and make sure they agree. Ask for service records, look closely at the body and interior in person, and take a test drive. With only two models in our data, Geneva and La Joya, it also helps to confirm that the model named in the advert matches the car you see.
