Enter a 17-character VIN and the HistoVIN decoder reads the manufacturer, the model year and the country of manufacture straight from the code. For Bestune, our data currently holds one model, the T77, an SUV with version data for model year 2018.
The decoder reads only the VIN itself, so it shows nothing about accidents, mileage, theft or previous owners. That information comes from a paid vehicle history report.

Every VIN has 17 characters, and the letters I, O and Q are never used. The first three characters are the WMI, which identifies the manufacturer and the region. Characters 4 to 8 describe the vehicle, character 9 is a check digit, character 10 is the model year, character 11 the plant, and characters 12 to 17 the serial number.
At the moment we have no WMI codes mapped to Bestune, so we cannot list any first-three-character combinations or countries for the brand. That is a gap in our list and says nothing about any particular VIN. A Bestune VIN that starts with other characters is not a problem in itself, and the decoder will still read what it can from the rest of the code.
The model year is the easiest part to check. Our Bestune data covers 2018 only, and the letter for 2018 in position 10 is J. If the tenth character of your VIN is J, it points to model year 2018.
Every VIN has six parts. This is what each of them means.
| Part | Characters | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| WMI | 1 to 3 | World manufacturer identifier: who built the vehicle and where |
| VDS | 4 to 8 | Vehicle descriptor: model, body type and engine, as set by the manufacturer |
| Check digit | 9 | Control value that helps confirm the VIN is valid |
| Model year | 10 | Code for the model year |
| Plant | 11 | Code for the assembly plant |
| Serial | 12 to 17 | Production sequence number of this vehicle |
On the driver's side, visible through the windshield.
On a sticker on the door frame or the edge of the door.
Printed in the vehicle registration or title.
Stamped on the firewall or the frame on many models.
A VIN is built from six parts, and each one says something about the vehicle. Our guides explain how to read it and what it can and cannot tell you.

The VIN is usually printed on a plate at the base of the windscreen on the driver's side, and often on a sticker in a door frame. It also appears on the registration papers. Look for 17 characters with no letters I, O or Q.
The first three characters are the WMI, which points to the manufacturer and region. We have no WMI codes on file for Bestune yet, so the decoder may not be able to name the manufacturer from them. This does not mean the VIN is invalid.
Look at the tenth character. Our Bestune data covers model year 2018, which is shown by the letter J. The decoder reads this character for you.
It cannot show accidents, mileage, theft records or the number of owners, because none of that is stored in the VIN. The decoder gives you manufacturer, model year and country of manufacture, nothing more.
Make sure the VIN on the car matches the one in the registration papers and has 17 characters. Ask for the service records and have the car inspected in person. Our data lists the T77 SUV for model year 2018, so compare the model year the decoder gives with what the seller says.
