This page decodes VINs for Bee Bee. Enter the 17 characters and the decoder reads the manufacturer, the model year and the country of manufacture straight from the number. Our data for the brand is small: one model, the XS, in a Convertible body style, with model year 2016.
A VIN does not record accidents, mileage, theft or previous owners, so the decoder cannot show them. That information comes from a paid vehicle history report, while the decoder itself stays free and needs no registration.

Every VIN has 17 characters, and the letters I, O and Q are never used. The first three characters are the World Manufacturer Identifier, or WMI. We do not yet have any WMI codes mapped to Bee Bee, so we cannot list a prefix or a country for the brand here. The decoder still reads the number you enter, and the codes we recognise for the brand will be listed once we have them.
Characters 4 to 8 describe the vehicle, and character 9 is the check digit. North America requires it, while many European VINs fill that position differently. Character 10 is the model year. For a 2016 Bee Bee XS the tenth character would be G. Character 11 marks the plant, and characters 12 to 17 are the serial number.
Every VIN has six parts. This is what each of them means.
| Part | Characters | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| WMI | 1 to 3 | World manufacturer identifier: who built the vehicle and where |
| VDS | 4 to 8 | Vehicle descriptor: model, body type and engine, as set by the manufacturer |
| Check digit | 9 | Control value that helps confirm the VIN is valid |
| Model year | 10 | Code for the model year |
| Plant | 11 | Code for the assembly plant |
| Serial | 12 to 17 | Production sequence number of this vehicle |
On the driver's side, visible through the windshield.
On a sticker on the door frame or the edge of the door.
Printed in the vehicle registration or title.
Stamped on the firewall or the frame on many models.
A VIN is built from six parts, and each one says something about the vehicle. Our guides explain how to read it and what it can and cannot tell you.

Look in the registration papers first, since the VIN is normally printed there. On the car itself it is usually on a plate at the base of the windscreen or on a door pillar.
The first three characters are the WMI, which identifies the manufacturer and the country. We have no WMI codes mapped to Bee Bee at the moment, so we do not list any. A VIN starting with other characters is not a problem, because our list is not complete.
Check the tenth character of the VIN. A G stands for 2016, which is the model year in our data for the XS Convertible.
It cannot show accidents, mileage, theft records or owners, because none of that is stored in the VIN. It only reads the 17 characters.
Compare the VIN on the car with the one in the papers, and make sure they match exactly. Then decode it here to see whether the model year and country fit what the seller tells you.
