This free decoder reads the 17-character VIN of an Aspark and shows the manufacturer, the model year and the country of manufacture. Our data for the brand covers one model, the OWL, with version data for model years 2017 to 2020.
A VIN does not hold accidents, mileage, theft records or previous owners. That information comes from a paid vehicle history report, while the decoder itself stays free and needs no registration.

Every VIN has 17 characters, and the letters I, O and Q are never used. The first three characters are the WMI, which identifies the manufacturer and the country of manufacture. At the moment we have no WMI code mapped to Aspark, so we cannot list one here. Our list is not complete, and that says nothing about any particular VIN.
Characters 4 to 8 describe the vehicle, and character 9 is a check digit. North American VINs require it, while many European VINs fill it differently. The model year sits at position 10. For the years in our data the letters are H for 2017, J for 2018, K for 2019 and L for 2020. So a VIN with L in the tenth place points to model year 2020.
Character 11 marks the plant, and characters 12 to 17 are the serial number. VINs in this 17-character format exist for cars built since 1981.
Every VIN has six parts. This is what each of them means.
| Part | Characters | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| WMI | 1 to 3 | World manufacturer identifier: who built the vehicle and where |
| VDS | 4 to 8 | Vehicle descriptor: model, body type and engine, as set by the manufacturer |
| Check digit | 9 | Control value that helps confirm the VIN is valid |
| Model year | 10 | Code for the model year |
| Plant | 11 | Code for the assembly plant |
| Serial | 12 to 17 | Production sequence number of this vehicle |
On the driver's side, visible through the windshield.
On a sticker on the door frame or the edge of the door.
Printed in the vehicle registration or title.
Stamped on the firewall or the frame on many models.
A VIN is built from six parts, and each one says something about the vehicle. Our guides explain how to read it and what it can and cannot tell you.

The VIN is usually printed on a plate at the base of the windscreen or on a door pillar, and it appears on the registration papers. Compare the number on the car with the one in the documents.
The first three characters are the WMI, which stands for manufacturer and country. We have no WMI code mapped to Aspark yet, and our list is incomplete, so a VIN starting with other characters is not a cause for concern.
Look at the tenth character. In our data for the OWL, H means 2017, J means 2018, K means 2019 and L means 2020.
It reads only the VIN, so it shows no accident damage, mileage, theft status or ownership history. We also have no body style or power figures for this brand in our data.
Make sure the VIN on the car matches the one in the papers and that the tenth character fits the model year you were told. Ask to see service records and look over the car in person.
