This page decodes the 17-character VIN of an Aria. Enter it and the decoder reads the manufacturer, the model year and the country of manufacture from the characters alone. In our data Aria has one model, the FXE, and the version data covers model year 2019 only.
A VIN does not record accidents, mileage, theft or previous owners. That information comes from a paid vehicle history report. The decoder itself needs no registration and costs nothing.

Every VIN has 17 characters, and the letters I, O and Q are never used. The first three characters are the WMI, which identifies the manufacturer and the country. We do not yet have any WMI codes mapped to Aria, so there is no list of prefixes to show here. Our list is incomplete, and a VIN that starts with other characters is not a sign of a problem.
Characters 4 to 8 form the descriptor section, and character 9 is a check digit. North American VINs must use it, while many European VINs fill it in differently. Position 10 gives the model year. Since our Aria data covers 2019, the letter to look for there is K. Position 11 marks the plant, and positions 12 to 17 are the serial number.
Every VIN has six parts. This is what each of them means.
| Part | Characters | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| WMI | 1 to 3 | World manufacturer identifier: who built the vehicle and where |
| VDS | 4 to 8 | Vehicle descriptor: model, body type and engine, as set by the manufacturer |
| Check digit | 9 | Control value that helps confirm the VIN is valid |
| Model year | 10 | Code for the model year |
| Plant | 11 | Code for the assembly plant |
| Serial | 12 to 17 | Production sequence number of this vehicle |

On a sticker on the door frame or the edge of the door.
Printed in the vehicle registration or title.
Stamped on the firewall or the frame on many models.
A VIN is built from six parts, and each one says something about the vehicle. Our guides explain how to read it and what it can and cannot tell you.

The VIN is usually printed on the vehicle registration or title document and on a plate or sticker on the vehicle itself. Compare the two and make sure all 17 characters match before you enter it.
The first three characters are the WMI, which names the manufacturer and the country of manufacture. We have no WMI codes on record for Aria at the moment. That is a gap in our list and says nothing about whether a particular VIN is genuine.
Look at the tenth character. A K stands for 2019, which is the model year in our Aria data. The same letter repeats every 30 years, so the decoder reads it together with the rest of the VIN.
It cannot show accidents, mileage, theft records or the number of owners, because none of that is stored in the VIN. Body style and power figures are also not available in our Aria data.
Check that the VIN on the vehicle matches the one in the paperwork, and that the decoded model year fits the car you are being offered. Then ask for service records and have the car inspected in person.
